Roni is a native of East Chicago, Indiana. She earned her B.A. and M.A. in education at Ball State University. Upon graduation, she taught elementary school for 4 years. She then devoted her efforts to raising her two children and volunteering in the community.
After her children were grown, Roni continued her involvement in community affiars and in 1986 was invited to work part-time at The Community Foundation of Muncie and Delaware County, Inc. When the Lilly Endowment initiated the GIFT (Giving Indiana Funds for Tomorrow) program, the Community Foundation grew and needed a full-time director. Because of Roni's community knowledge, foundation experience, and commitment, she was hired in 1992 as the first full-time Executive Director of the Foundation.
Roni is now retired from the Community Foundation but continues volunteering in the community.
