Angie Pool has been with the Cardinal Greenway organization since 2008. She has served as CEO of the organization since 2014. Angie brings 37 years of experience in the non-profit world to her position. Prior to Cardinal Greenway Angie worked for the American Heart Association where she managed volunteers in several counties across Central Indiana. Her focus at the Greenway includes overseeing the daily operations, construction and maintenance projects as well as relationship building, fundraising, marketing, event management, and grant writing. She also helps promote the Trail by speaking on behalf of the Greenway at service clubs across the Region. Angie serves on two State Boards to advocate for trails in Indiana - the Greenways Foundation of Indiana where she is also the Secretary and the Department of Natural Resources Indiana Trails Advisory Board. She was recently awarded the Outstanding Trail Leader for Indiana at the 2019 International Trails Symposium held in Syracuse NY. During her leadership the Cardinal Greenway was designated a national Hall of Fame Trail in 2018 and most recently Indiana’s Stakeholder Trail for the Great American Rail-Trail.
Angie is married to Jay, her husband of 32 years and they are the proud parents of son Logan, his wife Ashley and Granddaughters Vivian and Reagan. They live in Losantville, Indiana and are just 1 mile from the Cardinal Greenway. Angie enjoys spending time with her family and spoiling her granddaughters.
